The Montgomery Public School System's new Johnnie R. Carr Middle School provides ample space for over 800 students. The school includes a total gross building area of 119,363 square feet on two levels and is on a 33.76 acre site. Each pod contains its own commons area, science labs, teacher's planning room, and material storage areas. Classrooms are designed for permanently mounted projectors and interactive white boards. The administration area, located in the center of the two pods, includes offices, health suite, conference room, and a teacher work room. This area is also equipped with a counselor's area that includes reception area and file storage.
